Updates to Our Business Model and Benefits for Clients

Oakmasters have made some changes to our business that we’re excited to share. Previously, we worked directly with the end-user; however, we now provide ‘supply only’ oak frames and our clients are mainly to other oak framing companies, construction firms, and developers. We still work with self builders as clients who are keen to benefit from trade rates, but willing to work with independent recommended designers and engineers and who use have their own builder or team to assemble. We can provide contacts to help with all these requirements, but no longer provide the services in house.

When using a third-party design consultancy service to provide us with the design specifications, clients don’t have to pay additional commission or any management fees on the design itself, saving on cost. 
 
Designs by Specialists
Using design consultancy companies means clients get the highest quality designs created specifically for them and their space by industry recognised specialists who have years of knowledge and experience.
 
Independent Advice
Design consultancy companies can provide their clients with independent advice on all aspects of their timber frame, including the style and scope. This advice is beneficial as it means clients aren’t limited to designs and scope driven by the manufacturer.
 
Indemnity Insurance Policy Cover
When working with a third-party design company, clients benefit from their indemnity insurance policy coverage to provide maximum peace of mind and security.
 
In order to manufacture a timber frame, we need a 3D timber frame model which includes physical joints, tolerances, and drillings. This model needs to be provided by a specialist designer using specific timber framing CAD software packages. This necessity is because our cutting edge CNC machinery requires output from this software to manufacture the frame.
Once we receive 3D CAD or CAM models, the cut list and/or machining file from the third-party design consultancy company, Oakmasters can get to work confirming the price and beginning the manufacture.
 
Our oak products are all created using the highest quality QPA/1 oak. We care about craftsmanship, and all our jointing is beautifully constructed to give the very best finish. All frames are presented with a planed finish, with the edges taken off lightly to ensure a smooth, tight finish that looks spectacular.
