An Elegant Entranceway for a Cheshire Property

Cliff Elliot was searching for a statement porch to complete his elegant Cheshire property. Despite hundreds of miles between his Cheshire home and the Oakmasters West Sussex workshop, the team worked hand-in-hand with a logistics firm and local tradespeople to create this elegant entranceway.

"I discovered Oakmasters online and was impressed by the quality of work," said Cliff. Initial concerns about the distance between the customer in Cheshire and the Oakmasters workshop in West Sussex quickly disappeared. "We chatted about the project and developed a plan for design, delivery, and installation."

Cliff worked with an expert designer to create a suitable design, which had to be adapted to avoid a soil pipe. Once the plans were agreed, a specification sheet was made, which was passed to Oakmsters to hand-select and cut the beams.

"The turnaround was rapid," said Cliff. "We moved quickly from initial conversations to completed designs and specifications." The Oakmasters team used precision CNC cutting technologies to produce a superior quality porch that's simple to construct.

Once the beams had been cut, Oakmasters worked closely with Cliff to identify a cost-effect transport solution. The solid oak beams are heavy and must be transported carefully, so Oakmasters have a range of trusted carriers that give customers confidence. "I was concerned about logistics, but Oakmasters identified a solution. Their recommended carrier could load the beams and deliver them over hundreds of miles for just £200."

When the completed kit arrived, Cliff had arranged for a local builder to erect it. The kit contained detailed instructions and all fixtures and fittings to put it together. "All the pieces were there, and it went together quickly without a hitch," said Cliff. 

Oakmasters provided Cliff with recommendations on how to care for his new oak porch. "Natural oak ages and weathers beautifully if left untreated," said Cliff. "They advised that it will naturally age and develop a unique character."

The overall project was completed on time and budget – saving Cliff a significant amount. "I'd had quotes for £8,500 from local tradespeople to complete the job to a lower standard," said Cliff.

Today, the porch is a wonderful way to welcome guests to his home, says Cliff. The team at Oakmsters worked with Cliff to deliver a fantastic, finished product.
