News : The Food Store (Budgens)
In 2005 Oakmasters manufactured components for a new food store, spanning between 10-15m.
Although the building combined a steel structure with a soft-wood roof, Oakmasters created the illusion of a genuine Oak frame using a Tudor style timber façade and brick infill panels. This ensured it complemented the aesthetics of the listed buildings in the surrounding village.
The food store was part of a large development, located in an important part of Broadway, in the Cotswolds. The £20,000,000 undertaking comprised of 53 luxury homes and some additional sheltered housing for the elderly, covering a cleared 4.5 acre plot on the sight of the old ‘Gordon Russell’ furniture factory.
Efforts were made to maintain listed buildings in the area, surrounded by an attractive long-established village. Oakmasters also provided high-quality, traditional style oakwork to replace existing rotting components in these renovated thatched buildings.
